Journey with us by currach along the rugged Connemara coastline. View this magnificent rugged landscape from a different perspective aboard one of these traditional fishing vessels.
Stop off and visit one of the many deserted offshore islands that are dotted along this coastline. Explore the ruins of a way of life no longer in existence. Learn about the history and folklore of these mystical places, and about the survival challenges of the one time residents of these Atlantic outposts.
Marvel at the beautiful white sandy beaches and the sense of being castaway from the modern world. Why not have us organise a picnic lunch so that you can stay a bit longer!
Departing from Crumpán Pier this trip visits Finis Island, which at 4km in length boasts one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in Ireland. Deserted since the 1980's, Finis had a recorded population of 140 residents at its peak. This trip can be extended to a full day with further stops on Spike Island, and Birr Mór or Birr Beag, each of which has a different history. On your way back to Crumpán why not pull a lobster pot, drop a line and with some expert local help land some fresh Atlantic fish and have your catch cooked fresh for you in Tigh Mheaic!
